Karachi, being the biggest metropolis deserves much more than it has got from the citizens and government on so many levels. Be it cleanliness of the city or beautification drives, we all need to take the ownership and work to make this city a better place. It is always good to see people working towards causes that make their cities proud. One such drive is happening for the past couple of years by EFU Life insurance and I am Karachi.
#MeriShaanMeraPakistan drive is all about getting rid of those Bengali baba ads from Karachi walls. The city don’t deserve such ugly graffiti and wall chalking all over it. In order to pay an artistic tribute to our dear homeland EFU Life initiated “Meri Shaan, Mera Pakistan” project In 2016. Under the guidance of Commissioner Karachi, Mr.Ejaz Ahmed Khan and his esteemed team of the project of beautifying Pakistan through thematic wall art commenced and produced such beautiful results that they’re continuing it this year to celebrate Pakistan’s 70th Independence day on a bigger scale.
Last year #MeriShaanMeraPakistan project has covered Ayesha Manzil and NCC walls. A 2000 sq.ft wall at Ayesha Manzil and a 3000 sq.ft wall of NCC Sports Complex has been painted with thematic Wall Art depicting our culture and love for our dear homeland. EFU Life has now extended this project to a third location, the Aga Khan Park, Garden, opposite Ismaili JamaatKhana covering a space of over 7000 sq. ft. This year the Independence Day celebrations are even bigger and with Meri Shaan Mera Pakistan artwork Karachi can proudly be part of the celebrations with pride. EFU Life had a contest for artists too in which they’ve asked to submit artworks. The winning artwork is going to be featured on Agha Khan Park wall. Look at all the fabulous artwork that has been painted so far.
Hats off to the talented artists who are making efforts to paint such beautiful artwork capturing the essence of Pakistan. From food identities like Anday wala burger to our train stations and the lost tradition of travelling in Tongas, #MeriShaanMeraPakistan themed art walls are a treat to watch. I can’t wait to visit the Agha Khan park and have a look at it myself closely. Definitely going there with my kids. It is like an exhibition and a walk through the history via art.
Hope we all treat this effort of EFU life with care and also take care of this art in coming years by preserving it and further working to make Karachi even cleaner.
CSR, corporate social responsibility is what gives a brand or organization a way to give back to community. It is good to see NGOs and Big corporate names working together to improve lives of people. The second largest carrier of Pakistan, Shaheen Air has done the same.
In line with its commitment to serve the community, Shaheen Air International (SAI) collaborated with EHD Foundation for the distribution of rations in Shahzad Colony. The rations – worth one month of groceries, were given to around 500 people including widows and their families.
Speaking about this initiative, Amir Sukera, GM – Special Projects, Shaheen Air International said:
“CSR is at the heart of SAI’s philosophy. Our values are derived from our management and we are firm believers of giving back to the community. Therefore, we actively conduct various CSR campaigns throughout the year. Shaheen Air International also encourages other corporations to adopt ambitious CSR policies and join us in serving Pakistan.”
The CSR campaign also featured the distribution of approximately 750 pairs of shoes among underprivileged students on the same day.
By now you must’ve come across, “There’s a new chip in town!” interactive 3D billboard in your city. Recently Lays Pakistan has launched a new flavor #YougurtAndHerb in Pakistan with a TVC featuring #LaysLegends, Football legend Messi and Sultan of swing Wasim Akram.
The campaign was talk of the town with its digital release as well as conventional media run but what follows the TVC is actually the hero of campaign. Yes!! It’s the CSR campaign that is having an impact on society positively. Say no to litter is what we need to learn and spread awareness about. After all it’s our responsibility to make an effort towards betterment of environment around.
#LaysLegends campaign’s outdoor branding is the coolest in recent times too. Look at the futuristic 3D billboards in Lahore, beautifully lit banners in Islamabad 9th avenue and creative standees of #LaysLegends on bus stands of multan, not only they look good and serves a purpose but spreads the message of cleanliness across. The life size cutouts of Messi and Akram are so inviting that you want to have a picture with them. Kudos to the brand for utilizing celebrity power not only to attract customers but to spread awareness too.
I’ve tried the #YougurtAndHerb flavor of Lays and hooked to it these days. I am also teaching myself and my kids not to litter. I am trying to play my part. Are you?
Thanks to Lays Pakistan for such a beautiful CSR campaign that is having such a positive impact on our lifestyle and society. Way to go Lays Pakistan.
